Student Travel Grants
In recognition of the valuable contribution of our student members, ASCEPT is providing partial travel reimbursement to support student attendance at the 2019 ASCEPT Annual Scientific Meeting. To be eligible for a Student Travel Grant, students MUST be financial members of ASCEPT prior to the abstract submission deadline and have selected to present an oral or poster communication at the Annual Scientific Meeting.
ASCEPT Student Travel Grants
To be eligible for a Travel Grant, an applicant:
- must be a currently enrolled student (Masters, Honours or PhD)
- must be presenting an oral or poster communication at the meeting
- must be a financial student member of ASCEPT
- must indicate that they wish to be considered for a Student Travel Grant when submitting their abstract via the online submission site
To indicate that you wish to be considered for a Student Travel Grant when submitting your abstract via the online submission site, you must tick the box beside the statement, “I wish to apply for a student travel grant” after entering your contact details.
You must also provide a letter of support from your Head of Department / Supervisor confirming your enrollment status and how you will benefit from attendance at the meeting.
For students enrolled part time please also include some explanatory information with respect to enrollment status and opportunities for support for meeting attendance in the letter of support.
Part time students may be funded at the discretion of the ASCEPT Board.
Abstract submissions and Travel Grant applications close on 12 September 2019.
Travel Grant recipients will be responsible for organising all their own travel arrangements. Grants are given to assist with travel only. There is a limited pool of funds for Student Travel Grants and the amount awarded depends upon:
- Home city relative to Annual Scientific Meeting location
- Number of applications
The level of support will be determined by the Executive BUT will NOT exceed a typical economy class airfare from the city of origin.
Successful recipients of a Student Travel Grant must present to the registration desk at the Annual Scientific Meeting and lodge Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) details.
Retrospective applications will not be considered.
